An ancient form of craftsmanship that originated in the unique types of soil found in Greece. Impressive artefacts stand testament to the truly special qualities of these materials. ESTERAS by EMSA continues this tradition with terraneo. The result: extraordinarily high-quality planters in unparalleled terracotta. Each piece is unique – just like the people who make it. Even today, all terraneo planters are still made in our production facilities on the Greek Peloponnese peninsula, the birthplace of terracotta. These products are meticulously handcrafted with a great deal of passion and expertise, using a combination of clays from five different types of soil.
The master craftsmen create an exceptionally robust ceramic product thanks to their intensive experience and their traditional expertise. The clay is processed under the optimum conditions and moulded into the desired shape using sophisticated techniques. By gently, evenly firing the clay at 1150°C during the gas firing process, the terracotta is given a naturally warm colour without any unwanted reddening. The material is then carefully processed to prevent the risk of efflorescence in the planters. These steps give the terracotta a guaranteed frost resistance of up to -50°C, without having to compromise on the material's characteristic permeability. ESTERAS by EMSA even offers a unique ten year frost resistance guarantee to prove it.
Individual style, timeless design and incredible quality are elements that bind all four terraneo style worlds: Pure, Modern, Mediterranean and Character. For residential use, industrial gardening and landscaping or commercial use – the terraneo planters in different sizes create a real stand-out impact.
