Talented auxiliaries for the kitchen

Double-jointed – the fine vegetable peeler
The 2-in-1 fine vegetable peeler is adept at showing off its multiple talents: bring on the potatoes or the asparagus, apples or cucumber – whatever form or shape the candidate is in, this versatile peeler is ready with a straight or Y-shaped approach. Its ergonomic design makes it a hit with either right-handed or left-handed users – in any position. For removing unsightly blemishes, this ambidextrous assistant is immediately at hand with a sharp twist of its integrated, cutting-edge tip. Made of non-rusting, stainless-steel and equipped with other natty details, this smart blade soon gets the scoop on the line-up of other competitors.

Take the strain out of pressing – the lemon press
The Smart Kitchen citrus press brings even more (vitamin) power into home life. What's new about it is the innovative pressing function: the ergonomic design of its rotating strainer makes it particularly easy to use. And it requires much less effort and wrist strength than conventional, manual presses. This well-designed gadget stands firmly on the worktop throughout the pressing process. With a capacity of 0.2 litre, the dish holds a whole glass full of fresh citrus or orange juice. Fruit flesh and pips collect in the strainer without clogging the pores. Finished pressing? Now for the next practical detail: the juice can be poured from all sides.

Doubly proficient – the garlic press
A garlic press nobody wants to part with. It is good-looking and fits comfortably in the hand. Its ergonomic handle is designed to provide very good leverage. This, combined with the tapered mesh, means only light pressure is needed for perfect results. And, unlike lots of conventional presses, the Smart Kitchen model can be taken apart for easy cleaning. After use, the integrated scraper quickly removes the garlic pulp left clinging to the press plate, making those tedious manoeuvres with a knife a thing of the past. Thanks to the special cleaning feature in the handle, no residue becomes lodged in the draining holes. The garlic press is available from January 2008 onwards.

From the fine vegetable peeler to the lemon press and the garlic press, all Smart Kitchen products are dishwasher safe. These clever utensils are available in white, that mainstay of kitchen colour schemes, with the innovative functional features picked out in red. There is also a special limited edition in fresh shades of red, yellow, green and orange as an introductory offer.
