1949

Franz Wulf founded the Franz Wulf & Co. plastic goods factory
in Greven.

1953

The legendary butterfly on the coffee-pot drip catcher was the company's first success product.

1956

The business grows and moves to Emsdetten, where the very first plant-care articles were produced.

1958

"EMSA Plastik" becomes a registered trademark.

1960

The first EMSA tableware series:
The two-colour design was entirely in touch with the trend of that period.

The company continues to expand:
EMSA moves to its current location in Emsdetten and starts trading
under the name EMSA-Werk.

1971

The red spot becomes the final corporate logo.

1975

Always a step ahead – even when it comes to architecture.
EMSA moves into its new administrative building.

1982

"Press - Twist - Seal!" – The patented Thermomatic closure system is a true innovation in the vacuum jug sector.

1995

Next-generation EMSA classics: Quick-Tip jugs allow for single-handed serving.

1999

EMSA turns 50! With the acquisition of ADDIS, the British market leader for household products, EMSA paves the way for success in Great Britain.

2004

The innovative airtight storage container CLIP&CLOSE takes the market by storm.

2008

"My World. My Home." - the brand's new claim reflects our philosophy: EMSA not only produces high-quality products for home and garden, it creates a home that makes you feel good. Close to trends and target groups - whether at home, in the garden or on the go.

Made in Germany: EMSA invests in the Emsdetten location for myBox, the first "design your own" flower box. With great success!

With their new Esteras brand, EMSA adds hand-made containers made of innovative NatureLite material to the product range.

2009

EMSA celebrates its 60th anniversary – at the very same time as the Federal Republic of Germany.

2010

The collapsible SMART KITCHEN salad spinner receives not one but three designer awards!

EMSA continues further investments in their German production sites –
a new manufacturing line is completed. Even more innovations will be coming off the assembly line in 2011.
